RO Fresh water generation in focus at Kormarine 2017
In the official Kormarine 2017 Catalog, the growing demand for reverse osmosis water makers is highlighted in one of the articles.
Reverse Osmosis freshwater generators are growing in popularity. The systems operate with relatively low energy consumption to produce water, and they have a high recovery rate. In addition, RO units have a small footprint, and are easy to operate, service and maintain. “We are seeing more and more owners adding RO systems for both potable and technical water. Many are also opting for energy recovery units to further reduce energy costs, by up to 60%.” says Kjetil Øxnevad, Global Sales Director at Enwa Water Technology.
Most of Enwa’s customers are involved in the offshore, Oil & Gas and cruise segment. The past few years have seen a rapidly growing demand for RO generators in the tanker market also. More and more oil- and chemical tankers are having RO systems installed for their water production.
